Equipment Tracking

Early Access Feature

Equipment Tracking is currently in Early Access. The feature is available to select users for testing and feedback. Full public release is coming soon.

Equipment Tracking uses proprietary computer vision models to automatically recognize and catalog your gear from race photos and videos. Your equipment appears on your racer profile, creating a visual record of what you ride with and when.

What is Equipment Tracking?

Equipment Tracking is an AI-powered feature that identifies your racing gear from media captured at events. Using advanced computer vision models, Adrenaline can recognize specific equipment types and brands, then associate them with your racer profile.

How It Works

  1. Photos and videos are captured at races (finish line cameras, event photographers, etc.)
  2. Proprietary computer vision models scan the media for equipment
  3. Recognized gear is automatically tagged with make, model, and type
  4. Equipment is linked to your racer profile based on your number plate and position
  5. Your gear history appears on your profile for sponsors and fans to see

Recognized Equipment Types

Adrenaline's computer vision models are trained to recognize a wide range of racing equipment:

Exhausts

Aftermarket exhaust systems are identified by shape, branding, and mounting style. Brands like FMF, Pro Circuit, Yoshimura, and Akrapovic are recognized.

Forks & Suspension

Front fork brands and models (WP, Showa, Kayaba, Ohlins) are detected from fork guards, stanchion colors, and triple clamp logos.

Boots

Boot brands (Alpinestars, Fox, Gaerne, Sidi, etc.) are identified from colors, logos, and distinctive design patterns.

Helmets

Helmet brands and graphics packages are recognized from logos, visor shapes, and paint schemes.

Gloves

Glove brands are detected from visible logos and distinctive colorways on knuckles and wrists.

Goggles

Goggle brands (100%, Oakley, Scott, Fly Racing) are identified from frame shapes and strap branding.

Jerseys & Gear

Riding gear brands are recognized from chest logos, sleeve branding, and distinctive patterns.

Graphics Kits

Custom graphics kits and aftermarket plastics are cataloged from patterns and sponsor logos.

Expanding Recognition: New equipment categories and brands are continuously added to the recognition models as they're trained on more race data.

How Equipment Appears on Your Profile

Once recognized, your equipment is displayed on your racer profile in several ways:

Equipment Gallery

A visual gallery shows all recognized gear with make, model, and event where it was spotted.

Timeline View

See what equipment you used at each event over time. Track when you switched exhaust systems, upgraded boots, or changed helmet brands.

Brand Affiliations

Equipment data automatically populates brand loyalty stats. Perfect for showing sponsors how consistently you run their products.

Gear Setup Snapshots

Each race captures your full setup—what bike, exhaust, boots, helmet, and gear you ran. Great for comparing setups when analyzing performance.

Benefits for Riders

  • Automatic gear logging: No manual entry required. Your equipment is tracked automatically from race media.
  • Sponsor visibility: Show brands you're loyal to their products with visual proof across multiple events.
  • Historical record: Build a timeline of gear evolution as you upgrade and change equipment throughout your racing career.
  • Performance correlation: Compare equipment setups with race results to see what works best.
  • Brand discovery: See what other racers in your class are running. Discover new brands and products.
  • Authenticity verification: Prove to sponsors that you actually use their gear at races, not just for photos.

Privacy & Control

You have full control over your equipment tracking preferences:

Opt-In/Opt-Out

Equipment tracking is opt-in by default for Early Access users. You can disable it anytime from your profile settings.

Visibility Controls

Choose whether your equipment gallery is public, visible only to followers, or private (just you can see it).

Manual Corrections

If the AI misidentifies gear, you can manually correct or remove items from your equipment history.

Selective Visibility

Hide specific equipment items if you don't want certain brands or products displayed publicly.

For Sponsors & Brands

Equipment tracking provides valuable insights for brands and sponsors:

Authentic Brand Loyalty

See which riders genuinely use your products at races, not just in sponsored photos.

Market Penetration

Analyze equipment trends across classes, skill levels, and regions to understand market share.

Influencer Identification

Find riders who consistently run your products and have strong follower counts for potential sponsorships.

Competitive Intelligence

See what equipment winning riders are using. Understand competitor brand presence in the market.

Accuracy & Limitations

Recognition Accuracy

Computer vision models are highly accurate but not perfect. Accuracy depends on image quality, camera angles, and lighting conditions at events.

Media Availability

Equipment can only be recognized if clear media exists from the race. Events without cameras or poor-quality footage may have limited equipment data.

Brand Coverage

Models are trained on major brands first. Smaller or niche brands may not yet be recognized. Coverage expands over time.

Manual Verification

While AI does the heavy lifting, riders can manually verify, correct, or add missing equipment to ensure accuracy.

Early Access Details

Current Status

Equipment Tracking is in Early Access and available to select riders for testing. This phase helps refine recognition models and gather feedback on the feature.

  • Recognition models are actively being improved based on user feedback
  • New equipment types and brands are added regularly
  • Early Access users help train the AI by confirming or correcting identifications
  • Full public release timeline depends on model accuracy and user testing results

Common Questions

Is equipment tracking available to everyone?

Not yet. It's currently in Early Access for select users. A full public release is planned once the recognition models reach production-level accuracy.

How accurate is the equipment recognition?

Accuracy varies by equipment type and media quality, but typically ranges from 85-95% for major brands. Riders can manually correct misidentifications.

Can I add equipment manually?

Yes! While the AI handles most recognition automatically, you can manually add equipment that wasn't detected or wasn't visible in race media.

What if my gear brand isn't recognized?

Report it! Early Access users help expand brand coverage by flagging unrecognized equipment. This data trains future model versions.

Is my equipment data sold to brands?

No. Your equipment data is never sold. Aggregated, anonymized trends may be shared (e.g., "30% of riders use Brand X exhausts"), but individual rider data remains private unless you choose to make it public.

How far back does equipment tracking go?

Equipment is recognized from any media with timestamps. If old race photos exist in the system, gear from those events can be retroactively identified.

Can I hide certain equipment from my profile?

Yes. You have full control over visibility. Hide specific items, entire categories, or make your whole equipment gallery private.
